Reduced radiation, high quality scans, better patient experience
A new state-of-the-art CT (Computer Tomography) scanner is up and running at Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital. With more than 16,000 procedures performed annually at Brightshores it’s a critical piece of equipment.
This new CT reduces the amount of radiation while improving the image quality of the scans meaning that staff can more quickly and accurately diagnose cancers, internal injuries, infections and more.
The new CT injector system can hold up to three different types of contrast and doesn’t require switching between patients.
With three different control panels (front, back, and wireless) staff can more easily operate the CT and interact with patients in different situations.
New automated breathing instructions and guiding lights are designed to help patients relax and produce the best quality scans.
New biopsy marking lasers help during CT guided biopsy procedures ensuring the efficiency and accuracy.
CT scans are the quickest option for a stroke and an essential part of the Owen Sound Hospital’s role as District Stroke Centre. When every second counts having state-of-the-art technology makes a huge difference for stsaff and for patients.
YOU made this possible, Because of you scans are quicker when it counts.
