Y♥u are at the heart of emergency medicine!
It’s a busy day in the emergency department at Brightshores Health System Owen Sound. We are caring for five patients experiencing chest pain. Four more patients are awaiting a critical care bed. All nine of them need cardiac monitors.
You may be wondering is this a problem?
Well, our emergency department only has ten cardiac monitors right now. And two more patients just arrived in the waiting room who need monitoring. There aren’t enough cardiac monitors on the floor to meet this urgent need.
Luckily, this isn’t an everyday occurence. Currently, our nursing staff can borrow monitors from other departments when extras are needed. But that’s just a short-term workaround, so we need to invest in long-term solutions now.
That’s why your support is so vital.
Will you donate today? Right now, we need new cardiac monitoring equipment to meet the growing needs of our community.
We’re working to raise $209,000 for three new cardiac monitors and a new telemetry station, along with three new telemtry packs.
If you or a loved one has ever relied on equipment like this, then you know how important it is to have real-time information about your condition when you’re facing a serious health crisis.
The new telemetry stations will provide a new, more convenient monitoring location in addition to our exisiting central system at the nurses’ station. It will mean that our nursing staff can always be aware of the heart rhythms for patients who need cardiac monitoring and respond quickly to any changes.
It’ll be like a nurse is always with you, even when they’re caring for other patients nearby. With central monitoring, help can arrive in moments, when every second counts. It’s not just practical, it’s lifesaving. That’s why we need your help right now.
When you donate, you set nurses and doctors up for success by providing state-of-the-art tools so they can work as efficiently as possible. This keeps the best and brightest healthcare professionals right here in our community where they can help you, your frineds and your family get excellent care.
With my warmest thanks,
