Radio for Oncology is back October 16, 2025!
Owen Sound’s Zoomer Radio 92.3 FM will be hosting the annual Radio for Oncology Radiothon October 16th 2025! Donations raised during the radiothon will support local cancer care. This Radiothon is more than just music — it’s hope on the airwaves. Every song, every story, and every donation helps Brightshores Cancer Centre provide the care and support that patients and families need most.
Together, let’s turn up the volume on compassion and make a real difference.
Donations made online will be read on air, unless you request to be anonymous.

Today Donors Like You Have …
Donated enough to buy a Hoyer Lift ($12,000)
Used by the care team to safely transfer patients from beds and chairs. Best practice equipment that makes the experience better for patients and staff.
Donated enough for 30 Registered Nurses to recieve Chemotherapy Training (30 Nurses x $310 / Course = $9,300)
Training through the Oncology Nurses Society (ONS) covers fundamental knowledge, medication-related toxicities, and safety standards. Having more trained staff capable of delivery chemotherapy treatments means Brightshores is better able to meet the needs of this community.
Eight Vital Signs Machines ($3,250 X 8 = 26,000)
Standard piece of equipment used on every patient to determine their baseline health. New monitors will transmit vital signs directly to patient charts saving time and reducing errors. They are fully portable and can travel with patients through the hospital if needed.
What We’re Working on Right Now!
An ECG Machine ($18,000)
A dedicated ECG for the Cancer Centre will speed up treatment times as doctors and nurses won’t need to borrow an ECG from other units in the hospital. Used to check heart’s electrical activity to check for heart condictions and monitor side effects allowing staff to make adjustments to treatement as needed.
