Current Needs:

Needs for 2025-2026

  • Brightshores Health System uses an extensive capital process to prioritize needs
  • The impact on staff and patients is the key factor in deciding what gets purchased and implemented
  • Government funds less than 10% of medical equipment
  • Check out our “Ways to Give” pages if you find an item you’d like to support!

Equipment plays a critical role at the Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital. It allows doctors, nurses and other staff to offer care to patients from all across the region. Having local and regional services available here in Owen Sound can make a lifesaving difference!

A well-equipped Hospital also saves patients from having to travel to larger centers for medical care, and it helps the hospital to recruit and keep doctors and other medical professionals.

Brightshores is able to leverage its size (six hospital plus the Wellness and Recovery Centre) to purchase items in bulk and reduce costs. Having the equipment across each of the sites also helps staff move between locations easily.

Thank you for supporting local healthcare!

Critical Care

BiLevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) Machine

$80,000 – similar to a CPAP machine except a BiPAP produces two different levels of air pressure (one for inhale and a different for exhale) whereas a CPAP uses a consistent air pressure. The two different pressures make it even easier for the person using the device to breathe.

Infant Warmer

Women and Child Care

Bubble CPAP
