Scotiabank and Scotia Wealth Management

As part of their support for our 2025 Charity Golf Classic, Scotiabank and Scotia Wealth Management partnered with local branches to match donations in support of local healthcare made between June 2nd – June 7th . Thanks to the generosity of donors who contributed $31,125 at the Charity Golf Classic, and Scotiabank’s generous matching gift, we’ve doubled the impact to support local healthcare. We’re grateful for this partnership that helps make a real difference in our community.

McDonald’s

On June 3, 2025, McDonald’s owner operator Steve & Christine Sgro along with staff presented a cheque for $30,992.39 to Amy McKinnon, Brightshores Owen Sound Foundation CEO, and Jennifer Olivier, Brightshores Director of Surgery and Women & Child Care Unit. This portion of proceeds from the May 8th McHappy Day fundraiser will allow the purchase of needed equipment including a Glidescope, Bubble CPAP and Airvo 3 Kit for the Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital’s Women & Child Care Unit.

We are incredibly grateful to the Kemble Lions Club for their generous donation of a tailgate bench to be raffled in support of purchasing a new CT scanner. This generous contribution not only helps bring us closer to acquiring vital medical equipment but also highlights the incredible spirit of partnership and care that makes local healthcare possible. Lucknow & District Kinsmen Club

The Lucknow & District Kinsmen Club made a $10,000 gift to our annual Radio for Oncology event. The donation is part of the Club’s Music in the Fields gifting. For those who may be unfamiliar, the Kinsmen are a completely non-profit community organization, with all proceeds directly supporting those in need. Lucknow’s Music in the Fields is a weekend long music festival created by the Lucknow & District Kinsmen – celebrating over a decade of music, camping, and community

Owen Sound District Secondary School’s Leadership Class

THANK YOU to the Owen Sound District Secondary School’s Leadership Class for supporting the Women and Childcare Unit at Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital with their fundraising efforts during the OSDSS vs St. Mary’s Hockeyfest on November 14, 2024. They successfully raised $1,000! Their generosity will help purchase critical equipment and provide the best care for the newest members of our community and their families.

BUILT Strength & Conditioning

A big thank you to Built Strength and Conditioning and all of their Pink Challenge participants, coaches, supporters and volunteers! With great passion they raised $15,765.30. All proceeds will go directly to supporting the new mammography suite at Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital. Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital currently performs about 9,000 mammograms every year. The new mammography suite will feature two new mammographic units and a new biopsy system. This new equipment will provide higher quality scans in less time using less radiation — creating better outcomes for local people.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 340 

the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 340 in Port Elgin presented Foundation CEO Amy McKinnon with a generous donation of $4,800. The donation will go towards the purchase of an immunohistochemistry stainer and Brighthsores’ Oncology.
