Curling Funspiel

2023 Event Scheduled

8 teams of curlers took to the ice at Blue Water Curling Club on Saturday, February 18th for a day of curling to help raise funds for the Owen Sound Foundation. By the end of the day, over $10,000 was raised to support high priority projects at Brightshores Health System Owen Sound.

“Thank you to all of the curlers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters of the Charity Curling Funspiel for making it such a success” said Carrie Keeling, Chair of the organizing committee. The Lead sponsor of the Funspiel was Jason Legge with The Co-operators. The Draw sponsor was BrokerLink. More than 50 local businesses provided sponsorships, auction, raffle items and team prizes.

Winning the Funspiel overall was the GBHS team, skipped by Torben Hawksbridge, with Amy McKinnon, Willard VanderPloeg and Paul Weitendorf.

Since inception, the Funspiel has raised more than $335,000 in support of community healthcare at Brightshores Health System Owen Sound.
